5 big reasons for the crushing defeat of Congress, why it is helpless in standing in front of BJP?

New Delhi. After elections were held in five states, the results of four are almost clear. Congress is facing defeat in 3 out of 4 states. This victory is of great importance for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) before the 2024 general elections. This result can be called the mood of the Hindi belt of India in particular.

There may be many reasons for BJP’s victory in these assembly elections, but the country’s oldest political party Congress will definitely think about the major reasons for its defeat. If seen superficially, there could be five major reasons for Congress’s defeat:

1. Poor organization of Congress – The organization of Congress at the grassroots level appears to be very weak. There was a time when organizations like Congress Seva Dal, Mahila Congress, Sarvodaya, Youth Congress used to do a lot of work for the party. He had direct contact with the people and it became easy for the policies and schemes of the government to reach the common people. But for quite some time all these organizations appear to be sluggish. Despite having a government in the state, this shows that it has not been able to reach out to the voters.

2. Lack of confidence in the leadership – One of the biggest reasons is that the leadership of Congress has started looking weak. However, through Bharat Joda Yatra, an attempt was made to establish Rahul Gandhi as a mass leader. Wherever the yatra passed, people were seen joining there, but unless the crowd is converted into votes, it is difficult for any leader to become a mass leader. There is a lack of confidence in its leadership within the internal organizations of the Congress, which has directly benefited the BJP.

3. Factionalism – This time, major factionalism was seen within the Congress in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. In Rajasthan, the conflict between the groups of Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot was visible from the first day. For the entire five years, the top leadership of Congress was busy in correcting this mistake. After Jyotiraditya Scindia joined BJP in Madhya Pradesh, many small leaders also joined BJP. That gap has not been filled since then.

4. Weak Communication – Why are Congress organizations weak? It seems that the leadership’s message is not reaching the organization clearly. This time Priyanka Gandhi campaigned a lot and made many promises. But people did not understand those promises. To put it in another way, it can be said that Priyanka could not explain her point to the people. More or less, this has been the situation of Rahul Gandhi also. He campaigned, but could not connect with the people directly. On the contrary, people understood the words of all the leaders of BJP including Narendra Modi. The election results testify to this.

5. Statements backfiring – Congress leaders tried unsuccessfully to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Every time the linguistic boundary was crossed and BJP succeeded in turning it in its favor. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge had given a controversial statement on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Congress President said, “Modi ji has become the leader of liars.” Every time BJP has benefited from such statements regarding Prime Minister Modi.
